| Your guide to mobile video content for Apple's iPod, Sony's PSP, and more. This edition Sony Connect, ESPN, FHM, and more. |
| Sony Connect - PSP http://psp.connect.com/ Our featured website this month is Sony's own Connect service for the PlayStation Portable. Don't worry - there's no program to download and certainly no fees. Just jump onto their website and download free videos formatted for your PSP. With new content added each week, Sony's Connect service makes good use of your shiny handheld, assuming you have a large enough memory card. The videos are typically between 10 and 100MB in size, so you will not be able to fit much (if anything) on the standard 32MB card. Many of the videos feature sports, music, cars, and video games (of course). The gaming videos detail recent and upcoming releases for the PlayStation 2 and PSP systems. Currently, there is also a video tracing the history and success of Nintendo's own Mario. In music, there are several interviews well-known artists, including The Flaming Lips and 112. There are several extreme sports videos to download, as well as content based upon shows from the Showtime cable network. PSP owners looking for a weekly helping of handheld media should drop by the Connect PSP website. Strong Bad E-Mails & More! http://www.homestarrunner.com Strong Bad and Teen Girl Squad from hugely popular website HomestarRunner.com have invaded iTunes, with specially formatted versions of these absurd, animated favorites. Atom Films To Go http://www.atomfilms.com/af/togo/ Atom Films has been providing amusing streaming videos for years, but they have recently ventured into the world of portable media. Atom Films to go provides a rotating set of original short films for both the PSP and the iPod with video. ESPN: Pardon the Interruption http://espn.go.com/eoe/pti.html ESPN's excellent afternoon talk show, Pardon the Interruption, is now available via the iTunes Podcast Directory. Each daily episode has been put up for the last two weeks, sans commercials and unfortunately video. Still, the aural banter between Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser is gold even without the visual aids. FHM on Your PSP http://www.fhm.com/site/psp/main.asp Been looking for some half-naked women for those long, agonizing trips? FHM Magazine is here to help, with downloadable files bearing the names "Naked Skydiving" and "Honeys on Tour." These film clips and pictures are specially formatted for the dimensions of your PSP. Just, uh... don't get caught, alright? |
