| Your guide to mobile video content for Apple's iPod, Sony's PSP, and more. This edition Clerks II, Entourage, Dane Cook and more. |
| G4 Video Podcasts http://www.g4tv.com/podcasts/index.html I love watching G4, but I spend most of my television time watching some form of SportsCenter. Sickening, I know, but there is another way to get your G4 fix. The cable network has made nearly a dozen video podcasts available from either their website or iTunes, with many updated daily. The most popular is the X-Play Daily Video Podcast, which distills their game reviews and features into short, daily podcasts. The beautiful Olivia Munn hosts The Daily Nut, a podcast that gathers up all of the viral videos from the net and shows only the best of the bunch. A podcast for the early seasons of "The Man Show" is also available, along with podcasts for several of the network's other popular shows. I fully intend on filling up my video iPod with several of these podcasts, because a vacation without witty gaming criticism is no vacation I want to take. Entourage Podcast http://www.hbo.com/entourage/downloads/index.html Continuing on the cable-to-podcast trend, HBO has created a podcast for the brilliant show "Entourage," featuring interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and looks back at the first two seasons. Both video and audio podcasts are currently available, and be sure to check out the interview with Jeremy Piven, who plays agent Ari Gold on the show. Danecast http://www.danecast.com Though we are all dying for Dane Cook to create some new material, those of us not sick of the old stuff can check out Danecast, Cook's own random podcast. Additionally, the first episode of "Dane Cook's Tourgasm" is up as a free download via the iTunes podcast directory, along with additional interviews and such. Now you can have Dane on the go... well, besides when your friends repeat his jokes ad nauseam. Train Wreck! The Making of Clerks II http://www.clerks2.com/trainwreck/index.php Train Wreck! is a seventy-five part (so far) documentary on the making of Clerks II, put together by Kevin Smith and the cast and crew of the film. View Askew fanatics will undoubtedly want to subscribe to this, along with anyone else curious with the behind-the-scenes antics of a modern comedy film. Filmspotting http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=1880 Filmspotting is a Chicago-based podcast from movie reviewers Adam Kempenaar and Sam Hallgren. Updated twice-weekly, the podcast both reviews recent films (such as "A Scanner Darkly" and "Superman Returns") and features amusing lists like "Top 5 Movies We Should've Hated." Over one-hundred episodes have been produced to date, and the podcast has received very favorable reviews on iTunes. |
