Lohan's Killer Thriller |
| The movie "I Know Who Killed Me" has a very fascinating plot. In the film, a serial killer who terrorizes young girls is plaguing a small town. A young college student, Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan), apparently becomes the next victim when she turns up missing. This doesn’t sound very unique, but it gets better. She manages to escape and turns up on a deserted road. When she comes to she claims to be a different person though, a stripper named Dakota Moss. A mass of confusion follows, especially since she bears identical wounds to the other victims of the serial killer. Dakota senses something about the serial killer and leads the police on a chase to catch him before it is too late. Does this sound intriguing? It does to me, a good thriller with a nice little twist. The film is really gripping because of the story, the way that a person can confuse their identity. The film is rated R for gory images, violence, torture and sex and nudity, but this could be because the usual horror brutality is secondary to the characters. Any movie these days that includes a serial killer is going to show some bad images, that is how these movies are. However, not all films try to have a really solid plot. This movie will make you think and wonder what is going on, not just how bad the next torture scene will be. One of the things that make me think this about the film is that when the FBI investigates Aubrey’s disappearance, they find that she has written a story about a girl with an alter ego named Dakota. This is an provocative little tid bit that makes me wander about Aubrey and Dakota and how the two characters will be reconciled in the film. Of course, even with a really good storyline, the film won’t be good unless it has good actors that bring the characters to life. In Lindsay Lohan, Director Chris Siverston has an actress that I believe can pull it off. I believe. This will be Lohan’s first real test in her acting ability as she tries for a complicated role that is really that is key to the entire movie. Her other movies, such as "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" really can’t compare to "I Know Who Killed Me" in the acting demands. Can she convince the audience that she is two separate people? Also, Lohan takes part in her first sex scene. Being known as a younger teeny actress, this could be a shock for viewers. It will be very interesting to see if she can pull this role off. I’m sure the director and producer will be very anxious to find out what audiences think of her, because that will be the key to the film’s success. All in all, "I Know Who Killed Me" looks like it is going to be a very capivating and exciting film at the least. Depending on Lohan, it could be great, or just another cheap horror film with cheap thrills. I have to admit that I have trouble taking her seriously. This isn’t just because of her acting experience, but also her charades in real life. When watching the movie, it would be hard to keep these things out of mind and accept her in this more demanding role. I haven’t quite decided whether or not I plan on checking this one out, but it definitely is worth the consideration, Lohan or not. I Know Who Killed Me in Theaters July 27th |
