Golden Compass DVD

Many novels to film suffer the same fate: a movie that is below average by the book-lovers' standards, and The Golden Compass is no exception.  As a fan of the Phillip Pullman novel myself, others were disappointed in the Chris Weitz interpretation, which chopped off some crucial elements of the plot's ending and watered it down to be kid/family friendly.  I would reccommend reading the book for a Golden Compass redemption.

Most of us have our most disappointing book to film flops, including The Da Vinci Code, any Nicholas Sparks books, Memoir of a Geisha, and my biggest disappointment, The Count of Monte Cristo.
