The hour-long drama Brothers and Sisters is the story of a large group of grown up siblings living near each other and interacting with their divorced parents and each other. The drama has been hugely successful and has featured some incredible stars who are already well-known to the world of film and television. The season 2 box set, featuring 16 episodes, just released in a 5 disk set on September 23.
Disk 5 is chock full of bonus features for fans. The first is “Deleted Scenes” and there are seven of them featured. As usual with deleted scenes, some are more interesting than others, but all can offer insight for viewers that help with a better understanding of the particular characters involved.
The second bonus feature, “Guest Book,” is a video showing the guest stars from season 2. The producers, regular cast members as well as guest stars comment. This feature is packed with footage about each characters and story thread in the series’ second season. This feature runs for about 10 minutes.
The next feature, “TV Dinners: Food from Season 2,” is a fun feature which shows the food that appears throughout the second season and who actually cooks it for the show! There are tons of “eating scenes” in this series, and especially in this most recent season, so naturally someone has to prepare it. This feature, which runs for about 4 minutes, describes the ins and outs of the food preparation behind-the-scenes for season 2. The content of this section is probably one of the most interesting features presented in a DVD box set and it’s really worth checking out! This feature runs for over 6 minutes and "Collectible Walker" family recipe cards are also included.
The next feature, called “Open House: Designing the Brothers and Sisters Sets,” describes the process of set design on the show. The set designers introduce the working sets that are common to the show, as well as the soundstages that are easily convertible for the one-time-use sets on the show. This feature is an incredibly interesting addition to the set in that it introduces fans to the deeper aspects of what makes the show tick. This feature runs for almost 10 minutes.
The famous “Bloopers and Outtakes” feature is hilarious, as always, and entertaining for fans. What TV show’s box set is complete without a blooper reel?
The 16 episode season is a true showcase of what the show is all about, and this box set is really full of great features that would please any fan. This set is truly a masterpiece for any fan who loves the show!
