For a show that hasn’t been around very long, Dirty Sexy Money has done a good job staying on its feet as far as popularity is concerned. The show has had a rough start because of the writers’ strike, which affected everyone, and the first season only has a total of 10 episodes. The creators do a good job with the new box set though in their attempt to bring the show more publicity for viewers.

The box set includes several episodes with optional commentary by creator and executive producer Craig Wright; actors William Baldwin, Glenn Fitzgerald, Candis Cayne and Will Shadley; director Andrew Bernstein; and writer Yahlin Chang.

Another feature included on the disk is “Deleted Scenes” which showcases a total of 8 scenes. As is usually the case, the show is probably better off without the few missing scenes, but viewers tend to find them interesting anyway as they offer a glimpse inside the deeper intentions of the characters.

A much bulkier bonus feature, called “The Road to Excess: The Making of Dirty Sexy Money,” gives viewers the much-needed behind the scenes view of a show that has not had the opportunity for tons of public exposure. This feature runs over 20 minutes long and does its best to make up for the lack of on-screen action overall with the mere 10 aired episodes.

The final feature, “Enter the Penthouse: A VIP Set Tour,” is an interesting look at the lavish sets of the series on excess. Viewers get to spend a little extra time taking a look at how the whole set is laid out in conjunction to its other stages and rooms. The making of the set—a transformation from a gymnasium-like room to a posh mansion—is impressive and will be interesting to viewers who can’t get enough of the magnificence. This feature runs over 7 minutes long.

Dirty Sexy Money may have had a rough start, but it’s been able to hold its place pretty well under the circumstances. For a series that doesn’t have much to show for a season box set, the creators have done a great job pulling the whole thing together with bonus footage and behind-the-scenes details.
