Note: Frasier is a spinoff of Cheers that continues the life of Dr. Frasier Crane.

Frasier, still strong in its Tenth Season, is back with even more hilarious moments. Along with his brother, Dr. Niles Crane, and Niles’s new wife, Daphne, his father, Martin, and radio assistant, Roz, Frasier is in for a wild ride. With witty dialogue and comedy based on real-life situations, Frasier does not disappoint.

Frasier is very tastefully done, full of laughs and hilarious moments. Through this, it encourages the viewer to become totally immersed in the world of Dr. Frasier Crane. Season 10 is full of crazy events. Niles and Daphne decide to spontaneously get married, frustrating other people, making them have more than one ceremony, Roz moves to a new job at a different radio station, and an accountant named Julia comes to KACL to do the final 15 minutes of the radio show, focusing on the stock market. Through all this, the gang holds together, even through Christmas celebration spent at Martin’s work the day after Christmas. All these crazy events provide for some great comedy.

While some people may have written off Frasier just because its main character is a spin off of another show, it rises above those beginnings to be a smart, funny sitcom. The city of Seattle provides a superb backdrop for the show. Most of the show occurs in a coffee shop setting so it is easy to tell the influence that the city of Seattle has on the show. Also, while the intended audience may be those in their thirties and forties who remember watching Cheers, anyone could watch and enjoy Frasier.

Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce both received Emmy Awards for acting in a Comedy Series. The series also received countless other Emmys, including five consecutive Outstanding Comedy Series Awards, four Editing Awards, and a couple of Writing and Directing Awards. Other non-Emmy awards include more acting awards, and a People’s Choice: Best Comedy Series Award, and a Television Critics Association Best Comedy Award.

While watching the first nine seasons would be helpful to understand this season, anyone is able to pick up season ten and thoroughly enjoy it without ever watching Frasier before. Each episode is self-contained, so it’s easy to pick up at any point in the season. From spontaneous marriages, dinner parties gone totally wrong, and even an incredibly competitive squash tournament. Although the box set does not include any bonus or special features, which is the only reason this receives a three and a half, this season of Frasier has it all. Season ten comes in a four-disc set, containing twenty-four episodes, and is definitely worth picking up.
