Tim the Tool Man Taylor is the manliest of all men as he conquers the world of family, friends and work. Season seven may not be one the better seasons of Home Improvement, but it still delivers plenty of laughs, and loads of Al’s mom jokes. An award-winning TV series, it has great characters and individual plots for each episode with a simple, yet noticeable overarching theme.

Essentially, Tim is the host of a cable TV home improvement show called Tool Time. His wife, Jill, has gone back to school to get her masters in Psychology. They have three kids; Brad, Randy, and Mark. Mark has always been the misfit and has now decided to turn Goth. Conflicts with his parents plays throughout the series. Although the idea may seem simple, they found the right blend of actors and executed the plan perfectly to make this show one of the best family comedies ever.

This season Tim goes through his, “mid-life crisis.” In several episodes, Tim repeatedly makes spur of the moment, rash decisions, like wanting to buy a lake house, or wanting to have another kid. Jill thinks that Tim is going crazy. This plays as a continual theme throughout Season Seven.

Tim and Jill’s kids each have totally different personalities which provides for some really hilarious scenes. Brad, the oldest, is a soccer star that doesn’t care about grades. Randy, the middle child, loves writing for the school paper and works at his grades. Mark, the youngest, is still Goth. In one episode Brad decides to start writing for the school newspaper like Randy and ends up on the front page. This greatly angers Randy and you can tell what happens next.

This series has many things that people of all ages would enjoy. For the children, it has neat explosions and they can relate to each of the Taylor boys. Adults will like how Tim and Jill work out their problems, as well as the personal issues that each individual faces.

Home Improvement has received countless awards from many different organizations. It won the ASCAP award for best TV series, eight out of nine years. Tim Allen has won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV series five times, and Patricia Richardson has been nominated three times. This just shows the talent that adds tremendously to the appeal of the show.

Because the boys are older now may be the reason season seven is not as good as some of the earlier seasons. However, it still gives a knock out punch that will leave you rolling on the floor laughing. It comes in a three disc set containing all twenty five episodes and no bonus features.
