This made-for-TV-movie continues the saga of teenage witch Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) and her family of witches living in Halloweentown portrayed in the ever-popular series of Halloweentown movies. In this episode, Marnie is returning to school in her paranormal, supernatural hometown as always, something not considered 'cool' or supernatural, until she convinces the Halloweentown Council to send several teenagers to her high school in the mortal world. This was agreed to at a price - Marnie and her friends will all give up their magic if any harm comes to these teenagers. Marnie and her friends attend the school, but what seemed to be easy is no longer when the evil Knight of the Dark Iron Dagger appears, turning good luck to bad. Marnie must now save her high school, the human world, and her magic from the evil Knight of the Iron Dagger who is out to destroy all things magical.

Directed by Mark A.Z. Dippe' and produced by Dan Berendsen and Don Schain, based on characters created by Paul Bernbaum, this story brings high school to a new level, viewed by students from another school system and knowledge base, making the class and returning to school a fun experience - not only for the students from Halloweentown, but also the students in the mortal school who are their new classmates.

Not only must Marnie and her friends adjust to a new schooling system and method, they must also hide their true selves, only able to come out of their human suits in select private areas.

The insights of the students towards high school - the fight against the evil Knight of the Iron Dagger, the general tension of being a high school student, - all contribute to the views of high school problems, trials and tribulations faced by students, appealing to all teenage high school students. Living in a town where their type is not thought to exist, Marnie and her friends must adapt to the customs of the mortal world while also dealing with the Knight of the Iron Dagger, protecting the mortal and magical worlds from his evil intents.

From the first day of school, to the mall, to dating, and revealing of their true identities, this is a combination of Harry Potter, superheros, adventure, and realistic fiction, this movie appeals to many interests and viewers.
