Oh dear lord… I have to admit... I never got into this show when it came out. I remember watching a few episodes and thinking, "This is all right." Sci-fi has never been a big draw for me. Since I've started writing for Static Multimedia, I've had to review quite a few sci-fi things, including Season 9 of SG-1. Watching that season wasn't a bad task. I've certainly had to sit through worse (*coughStackedcoughcough*). But I guess I just wasn't invested into the characters enough to really care.

Or so I thought.

It's not my job to spoil the show, but instead to convince you on whether or not you should buy/rent this DVD. I thought about making vague threats ("You don't HAVE to watch this show, just like I don't HAVE to not cut the brake line in your car"), bribing you, even begging. But you know what? In the end, it's entirely up to you if you want to watch it or not. All I can tell you is that the twenty episodes in this set are some damn fine television. I won't say anything more or anything less than that. Thoroughly entertaining.

Special features include commentaries for EVERY episode (!), a butt-load of featurettes, and a "Directors Series" feature for one episode per disc (Sort of an extra-extra inside look at the making of that episode).

All in all, a superb boxed set for a great show. I'm serious, the ending was so good that it makes me want to start watching Stargate: Atlantis. And I usually hate Canadian stuff! (Just kidding Canada, we love you here in the states)
