Games Campus unleashes a new title just in time for Christmas! |
| OnNet USA, in association with Games Campus, globally launched their new online title, MangaFighter. Games Campus has made quite a name for themselves with the release of several free online community games, such as Fishing Champ, Shot-Online, and Xiah. It seems that their aim is to develop attractive (and addictive) free online games to suit a variety of tastes. No matter what you like, perhaps you will find some attempt or incarnation on the Games Campus website. From the press information and visits to the forum sites, MangaFighter seeks to combine intense, third-person shooter action with stylized anime superultracombatwarriors (I looked it up in the dictionary this morning, with the aid of a Sharpie.) Before you’re quick to say, “It’s been done before”, do keep in mind that MangaFighter has received a nomination for “Most Anticipated and Best New Game” from MMOsite.com. Even if the proof will still be in the pudding, nothing that’s simply been “done before” receives that kind of commendation lightly. Among the character customization options that are being promoted for this venture, players will get a chance to earn ranking badges as sort of a digital bragging right. No matter your opinion, this alone will definitely get the attention of any glory hound gamer, especially Achievement junkies. Granted, that’s not necessarily an automatic success marker, but people know people who know people. If you can base attraction on this one factor alone, MangaFighter certainly has a great attraction potential, means the word could spread quickly. ![]() Well before checking out the screenshots, forum posts and updates for the game itself, there is a merchandising factor that will most likely take advantage of the addictive nature of gamers. The offers of action figures and skill cards have got to be a brilliant plan, at best. The action figures will aim for the wallets of collector nuts, and the promotion events for free figures will want players to hone their skills. The skill cards will no doubt be coveted prizes for people who want that one-of-a-kind character edge that can only be found with such specialized gaming codes. All hype aside, MangaFighter’s true test will more than likely come out after its first year of live time. By then, players will be established, forums will be ripe with discussion and much of the actual system will be ironed out for steady play. I must admit, I am excited to see where it’s going to go. In the meantime, visit Games Campus in your spare time and keep yourselves posted on new MangaFighter updates as well as the other offerings. Intro
