Conan is an action-packed-bloody-beat-em-up with side order of boobs. Why would anyone put boobs in an action game? Well the answer is simple, if your trying to sell said action game to every teeage male in America! Half naked women aside, the game took almost all of its cues from the famed God of War series. And, it also features the obligitory "Simon says" action sequences that have been found in every action game sence Shenmue.

Conan plays like God of War in almost every way. Killing enemys is rewarded with red orbs that allow you to buy more combos. Smashing pots yeild green orbs that restore your health. Opening doors is generaly a matter of rapily hitting square. Intermittently, you will be expected to solve puzzles to find exits while being attacked. Defeating bosses depends on your ability to quickly press a series of buttons durring a cinamatic. Conan can also parry and counter when he blocks an attack with perfect timing. The parry attacks are preformed by "Simon Says"ing the button that appears over the enemies head. This leads to a brief cinematic of Conan decapitating, chopping in half, and/or stabbing the enemy.

One of the only things that is different about this game is the weapons that Conan wields. Instead of only having one weapon with many combos, Conan has lots of weapons with lots of combos. The combos are broken up into four groups: grab moves, one handed, two handed, and duel wielding. There are a ton of weapons in the game but most of them are cosmetic. Conan, oddly enough, gets the ability to use magic. I know what you're thinking, "Barbarians can't use magic.” Don't worry, I feel the same way. Anyway, he gets four spells that are a little overpowered. Some of the toughest fights by hand can be won in moments with Conan's magic. If you are a fan of Conan as a character, then do yourself a favor and don't use magic.

Overall, Conan is an average game with average graphics and average control. It has lots of room for improvement, such as coming up with its own play style and not ripping off God of War. Though, if you really enjoy God of War and can't wait for God of War 3, then Conan might hold you over with its seven hours of plot. Conan may not be the game of the year, but atleast you get to see boobs.
