Oasis' New Album Straight From the 'Soul'

Oasis has announced their follow-up to 2005's Don't Believe the Truth, with a new album tentatively scheduled for release on October 7, 2008.  Entitled Dig Out Your Soul, Oasis' seventh album will be the first release under their new record deal with Sony BMG.  Produced by Dave Sardy (Jet, Wolfmother), the album was recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studio in London.

The first single will be "The Shock of the Lightning."  Guitarist/songwriter Noel Gallagher has hinted the album will mark a change in songwriting methods.  It is said to include songwriting contributions from four of the band members.  An official track listing has yet to be announced.
