Bobby Valentino's debut album is, in a way, a moment to experience true R&B music from back-in-the-day. He's a young man, 23 years of age, who has clearly been going through Mom & Dad's albums, and it's paid off. "I'll Forgive You" could be deeply compared to New Edition's "Can You Stand The Rain," "Love Dream" pays homage to the great falsetto's of our time, by sounding much like Jon B, who sounds much like Babyface, but "Love Dream" goes a little deeper in its roots, and brings you to the days of Ronald Isley of the Isley Brothers. Bobby Valentino is no copy cat. In fact he's very original, in a day where so many artist lack natural raw talent.

Bobby Valentino comes onto the scene armed with a triple threat known as DTP (Disturbing Tha Peace). DTP consists of brothers Chaka Zulu and Jeff Dixon, along with multi-talented Ludacris. These men have proven themselves to be very wise in their own careers.

Bobby Valentino offers clean beats and smooth love songs for the upcoming R&B generation. "One Girl To Love", is delicate in it's acoustic guitar playing, along with finger snaps in the background. It's delicate and simple, and it works beautifully. In "Love Dream," the lyrics are deep, but it is Valentino's passion that carries the emotion of the song.

Valentino is young. His vocals are beyond his years, a blend of reincarnated soul. A mixture of Ready for the World and a dash of Genuine. His lyrics are young in spirit, but never immature. In "One Girl To Love," Valentino finds the balance of teaching but not belittling or preaching. In "One Girl To Love," He explains, "What goes around/Comes back around/If we keep doing these girls wrong/Somebody's going to do us wrong/It's reality."

Bobby Valentino will not be lost in the mix of playas and pimpin' beats. This debut CD is a seed that has taken root. His destiny has the title "musical legend" written all over it.
