The Dirty South rides again, only this time it's a little woozy. The Ying Yang Twins' U.S.A. (United State of Altanta) [Chopped and Screwed] is a salute to the irresistibly sleazy party crunk we've come to know and love. Its worst drawback is that it is relatively unvaried song by song, which results in irritating monotony; this album is definitely best listened to in several smaller doses or strictly as background music at a party.

Sex. I never think about it, don't consider myself fixated with it, in fact I tend to avoid the pleasures of the flesh. However, I was subjected to hearing about the carnal delights described in great dirty detail in a string of several songs at the album's beginning, starting with the mildly amusing skit "Sex Therapy 101," then coming to fruition with the heartfelt, tender, "Pull My Hair." Buried in this naughty vignette, no song gets along better with the eerie result of screw mixing than the hissing, shiver inspiring hit "Wait (The Whisper Song)," sprinkled with sophisticated lyrics such as "wait till you see my dick...I'm gonna beat that pussy up." Huh? All facetiousness aside, the song is pretty damn sexy, especially dragged out in the mix. Sometimes simple commands like "pull my dick" can be more erotic than the most intricately constructed sonnet. The problem is that after all this bragging if these guys aren't packing at least a ten inch pud each, somebody's gonna be let down.

They're silly. They're funny. Then Anthony Hamilton comes along and belts us back to sweet, sweet Isley soul in "Long Time." This song manages to survive the theoretical shredding it could have endured through the screw mix and comes out gorgeous, sincere even. Not representative of the album overall, the mastering is simply grand and vaults this song to the top of the record.

We get what we have expected from the Atlanta duo and pals; we get nasty, catchy, we get party and we get crunk. We get it all nice and ghoulishly chopped and screwed. We get a little too much of it. Pull my dick.
