So it's been about six years since Belgium indie rockers dEUS put an album together. Apparently, these past six years singer Tom Barman has been making movies and working on various solo projects. Perhaps the break has served the band well as dEUS' fourth album Pocket Revolution is their most listenable release yet. This is refreshing because the band's first two albums were experimental Euro-pop records that were difficult to listen to and although their third album, The Ideal Crash, began veering more towards listenability, it still proved to be too much for mainstream logic.

Although filled with catchy songs and that funny Euro-dude style, Pocket Revolution is lacking in spice. Halfway through the album I found myself bored as hell and ready to hit the shuffle button on the iTunes. This conflict of decent songs with unavoidable boredom put me in quite a predicament. To recommend, or not to recommend? That, my friends, is the question.

After several listens and the inevitable shuffling of my playlist, I discovered the potential greatness of this album. I mean, in this age of adult ADD and the digital revolution, this seems like a perfectly acceptable way to go about reviews. You'll find it more pleasing to just rip it to your computer, transferring it onto your iPod (or other media player/portable device) and letting the good songs come to you.
