Some albums are so great that they leave you speechless. Albums that are just so great lyrically and musically that the listener is overwhelmed with emotion. Gosling's Here is... may leave you speechless, but for very different reasons.
The band's second release (third if you count the album they released as Loudermilk) is drab and boring. The lead singer's voice is grating; musically the guitar lines are lifeless. If Gosling is going for a "vintage" or "classic rock" sound, they don't get it right. Sometimes their sound is reminiscent of Queen, but mostly is mundane and redundant. As you read through the track listings, a few songs look like they may rock. Musically, Gosling show no range, with each song utilizing similar lame beats and showing a considerable lack of energy.
