Spring ahead with March books

In this long bleak final month of winter, the only thing to really look forward to is above-zero temperatures. How depressing! Well, here is a list of some upcoming books in March to warm you up.

Under the Osakan Sun: The Adventures of an Occasional English Teacher
By: Hamish Beaton

Freshly graduated, Hamish Beaton moves to Japan to teach English for three years. This entertaining, touching story tells the his fortunate and unfortunate escapades in the Land of the Rising Sun -- some of them include drunkenly throwing up in a subway, dealing with fellow teachers, forming meaningful bonds with his students and cheating the system, and all the while desperately trying to find a girlfriend.

What will become of his life, his students and journey…and will he ever get the girl? Coming in March you can find out! Amongst the voyage you will be amused by young women with clothing fetishes, a peculiar elderly couple, middle-aged mothers cooking meals in exchange for English conversation, teachers with very strange habits, foreigners behaving badly and many other characters along the way.

He will show you how to prepare a great meal and get it on the table in less time than it would take to have your favorite Chinese joint deliver. This book contains ideas for 5-minute snacks, 10-minute main courses and 30-minute menus for various occasions. So if you’re in a rush, found out your beloved in-laws are in the area for a surprise visit, or want to whip up a delicious after school snack for you kids, check out this cookbook for quick and yummy recipes! Bon apetit.

A Change of Heart
By: Jodi Piccoult

In a story of redemption, hope and love, award-winning Jodi Picoult brings us A Change of Heart. As a huge Picoult fan, I am particularly interested and excited for this release! One day June Nealon looks forward to years of happiness, laughter and adventures with her family. The next day life becomes a monotonous waiting game: waiting for justice, waiting for her wounds to heal, waiting for a miracle. Shay Bourne has nothing to show for his life and nothing to offer the world. Something happened that changes his life forever, and his chance for salvation lies in June’s daughter, Claire’s, hands. Would you give up your vengeance against someone you hate if it meant saving someone you love? Would you want your dreams to come true if it meant granting your enemy's dying wish? Find out on March 4th, 2008 when A Change of Heart will be released.

No One Heard Her Scream
By: Jordan Dane

Detective Rebecca Montgomery knows her sister’s murderer is still on the loose. In the five months that her sister went missing there had been two more brutal abductions. The persistent detective will do whatever it takes to hunt down the threatening stalker in San Antonio. On her latest case she meets mysterious, seductive Diego Galvan at the crime scene. When Rebecca succumbs to his seduction, she makes herself vulnerable to a ruthless killer. And when he attacks, no one will be there to hear her screams.

Maximum Ride: The Final Warning
By: James Patterson

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and his other “flock” members are just like any other ordinary kids. Well except that they’re 2% bird, have wings and can fly. With new threats hunting the flock, the government offers them a safe haven and free schooling in exchange with keeping the Flock under investigation. But after their amazing adventures from the first three books, what kid would want to be controlled and not exercise their freedom? An escape from the feds links the Flock up with a (possibly) trustworthy group of environmentalists interested in a close-up look at global warming. One person threatens them, and his quest is to capture the Flock and sell them in a global auction for billions of dollars. Only time will tell what will happen to this group while they brave Antarctica’s wilderness.
