The news in the political sphere is that the anti-Obama books that have been released recently are excellent campaigns for booksellers as well as for candidate John McCain. On Tuesday, three of the anti-Obama books currently on the market appeared in Amazon.com’s top 20 best sellers. Although the books have received little critical attention and very minimal media coverage, it seems that people are still interested in the details disclosed within those books.
Readers, booksellers and campaign leaders alike have all noted that, until now, the most widely-available narratives about Obama have been written by Obama himself. Voters anticipating the upcoming election are incensed to discover more about the Democratic candidate that simply what the man says about himself.
HarperCollins president and publisher Steve Ross believes that the sale of these books will increase through the fall, but does not expect the sales of these books to exceed those of the senator himself. Hannity has been promoting the books on his late-night show by having the authors making guest appearances and this, many feel, has helped boost the sales.
