HarperCollins publishers, which experienced one of the worst first-quarter sales this past year, ended their fiscal year on June 30 with a $1 million increase in operating income and an additional 3% in sales since last year.
The last quarter, carrying the bulk of the weight for that success, experienced an 18.6% increase in sales. For the year, sales were at $1.39 billion, increasing earnings from last years’ $159 million to $160 million.
