Robert Downey Jr. has indefinitely cancelled his plans to write a memoir for HarperCollins and has returned his advance to the publisher. His memoir, which was supposed to cover the highs and lows of his life and career, including details about his experience with substance abuse, was originally set to come out this year.
The actor has had a lot of recognition as an actor, earning an Oscar nomination for his 1992 performance in Chaplin. He recently starred in the superhero film Iron Man and in the soon-to-be-released film Tropic Thunder with Ben Stiller and Jack Black.
