The sleepy and oh so lazy Hana Suzuki is back in our lives and faces once again! Her desire to sleep and her appetite has remained the same in this second volume of, My Heavenly Hockey Club. Besides having the reputation as the girl who sleeps through anything on anything and her love for food, she still plays hockey. Not to mention hockey with the "hottest" guys in school. Things are not looking to bad for her these days, but her bubble might just burst! The hockey club at school is not the best, who are we kidding they have been on a losing streak for as long as they have been around! It's never been an issue for the school administration considering parents and peers were still supporting the team. They were also good with supporting the team with "mullah". But over the course of time fans appreciation for the team and pay checks have been dropping, this may be a concern for the school administration now. The school whipped up a plan on giving a scare to the team. The plan can either go both ways; the team has to win the next match and if they don't win then they'll be disbanded. This obviously gives quite a scare for the team considering they have nothing better to do, and lets face it traveling is always a plus. The team decides to study on guidelines and techniques to "better their game" so to speak. Researching is taking place but then there is Hana relaxing and smiling from ear to ear! From day one Hana has not voluntarily joined the team and has tried numerous attempts to get out! Her priority was and still is her passion of sleeping. This was an opportunity for her to act on finally removing herself from the team. With the team on "probation" this was her shot on getting out, yet she feels guilty on letting her team down. Could it actually be because she has grown a liking to this group and possibly to the sport? It won't be to easy getting out of the team "gilt free" as she would of liked. Will she be the sellout on the team or will she continue all the learning and techniques to save the team?

I loved the first volume of My Heavenly Hockey Club. So you can imagine how excited I was when reading volume two. Once again Morinaga brought a good plot to our hands and even more humor along the ride. I loved the characters from the fist volume, they brought the Japanese culture in the writing. It continues with the same approach with volume two which to me was ideal. The characters are great and the plot was original, two great qualities for a comic. I liked how Morinaga introduced us new characters in the book as well. The illustration as always was a favorite for me! I love the free handed sketches and how they alone tell the story. Not too many complaints from my part regarding this volume. I love the translation notes attached to the back, I feel like the more and more I read Magna comics the less I find myself needing to look in the back. I'm no talking Japanese girl by any means I just have a greater knowledge in some terms better then the average. As always there was a chapter of the next volume, already making me grin and anticipated to read it!
